What is a Nurse Practitioner?

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with a master’s degree (or higher) and specialized training in diagnosing, testing, and prescribing medications.

Nurse Practitioners are licensed by individual states and hold national board certification in their area of specialty.

My background in nursing shapes my warm, person-centered approach to treatment—grounded in authenticity, compassion, and unconditional positive regard.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

We accept many major insurance plans as well as private pay.

Before your appointment, we’ll verify your benefits so you’ll know exactly what’s covered—no surprise bills.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?

If we are not in-network with your insurance, we can provide you with the paperwork needed to submit for reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement depends on whether your plan includes out-of-network benefits, so we encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your coverage.

What kinds of problems do you treat?

We provide care for adults ages 18 and older, with a special focus on women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry.

Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Perinatal and postpartum depression & anxiety

  • Major depressive disorder

  • Generalized anxiety disorder & panic disorder

  • Insomnia

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Phobias & social anxiety

  • Mood disorders & bipolar disorder

  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

…and more.

What can I expect during my first visit?

We begin with a free initial phone consultation so you can ask questions and make sure we’re the right fit before scheduling an appointment.

During your first full appointment, we will:

  • Review your history and current health

  • Talk through your symptoms and concerns

  • Provide a clear diagnosis when appropriate

  • Discuss treatment options, which may include starting or adjusting medication

Together, we’ll create treatment goals and a plan tailored to your unique needs.

Your care doesn’t end after the first visit—we will continue to assess how well your treatment is working, manage symptoms, and make adjustments as needed.

At Well Space, we see treatment as a partnership, and our ultimate goal is to help you feel better and supported on your journey.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with us is kept strictly confidential.

We will never share your information without your written consent, except in very limited situations required by law—for example, if we are concerned about your safety, the safety of someone else, or if we are legally obligated to do so.

Your privacy is deeply respected and protected at Well Space.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

Prescribing medications that are controlled substances such as stimulants and benzodiazepines are dictated by both federal and state laws. Covid temporarily suspended the requirement for in person visits, but this suspension is scheduled to end December 2025.

There are however, many effective treatment options for ADHD, panic, and anxiety that do not involve stimulants or benzodiazepines.

Together, we will discuss the safest and most effective plan for your individual needs.
