My dearest firstborn,
As I watch you sleep peacefully, even now it brings a feeling of love that is difficult to contain. Being a parent started with you, and for that, I am forever grateful.
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I had a wave of emotions shock, excitement, fear, joy, and a sense of inadequacy all at once.
Throughout the nine months of pregnancy, there were moments when I felt uncertain of my ever abilities and readiness to be a parent. But then, the moment came into the world. The moment you were in my arms, your big eyes met mine. Time seemed to pause, the world stood still, and all concerns vanished, they were replaced by love and happiness.
You've changed my world for the better. The house was not always spotless, sleep was scarce, and outings require tremendous planning, but the joy you brought has been immeasurable. You've taught the true meaning of selflessness and how to love someone more than I ever knew was possible.
You've opened my eyes to a new perspective, allowing the enjoyment of the simple, beautiful moments that often pass by without notice. You've given me the confidence to navigate not only the joys, but also the challenges of parenthood, and even gave me the courage to expand our family.
My love for you is infinite, and stronger with each passing day. You are my life, my greatest joy, my biggest accomplishment, and the most incredible gift I ever received. I hope that when challenges arise, or when life throws you curveballs, you always know I am here for you and how much you are loved.
Thank you for showing me the way, my sweet firstborn. I promise to always be here for you, now and forever.
With all my love,
Your Mom
